The San Lotano Maduro cigars are made at the Tabacalera Fernandez in Nicaragua, by Cuban blender A.J. Fernandez. The San Lotano Maduro line is a boxed press beauty made with a San Andres maduro wrapper which seems to be more widely used and all the rage these days. A full flavored smoke that’s a solid medium in strength, allowing the complex flavors of this blend to shine. The blend is made with filler tobaccos from both Nicaragua and Honduras then held together with a Honduran binder. A symphony of maduro flavors, a creamy smoke with hints of sweetness and core earthy notes. The cigar is well made and the box pressed format packs down the tobacco to give this cigar a cool slow burn, the San Lotano Maduro line received a 92 rating in a recent tasting in Cigar Aficionado’s “Cigar Insider.”
