Regius was introduced to the U.S. market in 2013 and prior to that was only distributed in the Europe market. The Regius is made in Nicaragua by Nestor Plasencia, who is one of the best producers of cigars in the world. The Black Label uses an all Nicaraguan blend of tobaccos and utilizes every part of the plant from all growing regions of Nicaragua with some of the tobacco aged up to 15 years. Let me repeat that. 15 years!
The cigars are then cloaked in Nicaraguan shade grown wrappers. The Regius is known to be very Cubanesque with a flavor profile that’s more Cuban than Nicaraguan. The blend delivers creamy flavors of leather, wood and some floral notes with a hint of sweetness.
