New from Abe Florez of Pinar Del Rio Cigars is a new Small Batch Reserve coming out of his brand new factory in the Santiago, Dominican Republic. The Small Batch Reserve is extremely limited with a reported 100 boxes of each size being produced in the first run. Available in both a Maduro and a Brazilian Cubra Habano, the cigar consists of a Dominican Criollo 98 binder and Nicaraguan and Dominican Corojo fillers. Available in four sizes, both the Natural and Maduro wrappers, grown on different farms, absolutely glisten with oils as you open a box of the un-cellophaned cigars. The Maduro is a very flavorful rich, balanced smoke that comes in somewhere in the medium plus range. The Small Batch Habano is fairly complex with some hints of peppery spice and a variety of different earth, wood, and leathery flavors. Again these are a small batch so they're going to go fast.. If your interested, I would try them sooner rather than later!
