After a short hiatus from the cigar industry, Sam Leccia, the man behind the groundbreaking Nub cigars, has returned with his own cigar company which bears his name. His debut cigar line, Leccia Black & White, features two unique blends from two undisclosed cigar factories.
The Leccia White is hand rolled from a Dominican factory and is comprised of a 5 country blend of tobaccos. It starts with a mixture of fillers from Nicaragua, Dominican Republic and Seco leaves from Pennsylvania, Sam’s home state. The fillers are held together with an Ecuadorian Habano binder and finished with a dark brown African Sun-Grown wrapper. The White is a rich, full-bodied smoke that delivers complex and balanced flavors of coffee, sweet cashews and spicy richness.
The Leccia Black is a medium to full-bodied cigar comprised of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, a Nicaraguan Rosado binder and an interesting blend of fillers from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Brazil (Mata Fina) with the unique use of Dark-Fire, a wood fire-cured tobacco which lends a distinct smoked whisky aroma to the cigars. This blend is very smooth and builds in strength and flavor as it progresses.
The Leccia Black & White are available in a handful of popular sizes packed in boxes of 21 cigars.
