This was definitely one of the "sneakiest" releases of 2010. Unleashed on the public without the usual fanfare of Facebook "Liking" and "Poking" and Brand release parties, the La Aurora Corojo kind of magically appeared on the shelves a few months after 2010's IPCPR. La Aurora's been a busy company this year, and I think they let this one do all the marketing for itself. The name says it all.. La Aurora: great company known for unmatched quality and overall Dominican greatness, check. Corojo: celebrated sweet and spicy wrapper with countless fans and cigars to back it up, check. Obviously named for its Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper leaf; La Aurora used an interesting blend of Dominican Cubano (65%), Dominican Olor (20%) and Nicaraguan Habano 2000 (15%) for the filler and an Ecuadorian Sumatran binder. The cigar itself is medium in body and while not very heavy in the nicotine department, this baby is spicy! Layered throughout is what can only be described as a mintyness, this is one satisfying and interesting cigar. Don't sleep on one of La Aurora's latest creations, this one is a winner in my book.
